Ingredients
  

  • 3 strips bacon chopped
  • 2 medium onions thinly sliced
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • Freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 5.2 oz package Boursin cheese (Garlic & Fine Herbs)
  • Fresh thyme for garnish
  • Bread or crackers to serve

Method
 

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped bacon and cook until crispy, about 4 to 5 minutes. Remove and set aside.
  2. Lower heat to low, add onions, and sauté until caramelized, about 20 to 25 minutes.
  3. Stir in brown sugar and garlic powder. Cook for 5 more minutes.
  4. Add balsamic vinegar, stir, and cook for 1 more minute.
  5. Return bacon to the pan, season with black pepper, and mix well.
  6. Place Boursin cheese on a serving plate. Pour the warm bacon-onion mixture over it.
  7. Garnish with fresh thyme and serve immediately with bread or crackers.
