Cheesy Pizza Toast

This easy pizza toast recipe is made with crispy sourdough, marinara sauce, creamy cottage cheese, melted mozzarella, and pepperoni, then finished with hot honey and fresh herbs. Ready in just 10 minutes, it’s perfect for a quick lunch, easy dinner, or elevated snack.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 thick slice sourdough bread
  • 2 tbsp marinara sauce
  • 2 tbsp cottage cheese drier texture preferred
  • 2 tbsp shredded mozzarella
  • 5 slices pepperoni or to taste
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes
  • 1-2 tsp hot honey to taste
  • Fresh oregano or basil for garnish

Method
 

  1. Toast the sourdough bread until lightly golden and crisp.
  2. Spread marinara sauce evenly over the toast (avoid overloading).
  3. Add cottage cheese and gently spread into an even layer.
  4. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top.
  5. Add pepperoni slices evenly across the surface.
  6. Place in air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is fully melted and slightly golden.
  7. Remove and immediately sprinkle with red pepper flakes.
  8. Drizzle with hot honey and finish with fresh oregano or basil.
  9. Serve warm.

Notes

  • If your cottage cheese is watery, drain it slightly before using.
  • Keep an eye on the toast during the last few minutes - air fryers vary.
  • You can substitute marinara with a quick mix of tomato sauce + dried oregano + garlic + black pepper if needed.
