Classic Smoked Salmon Toast with a Twist

This Classic Smoked Salmon Toast is proof that simple ingredients, when combined thoughtfully, can create something truly special.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 slices rye bread toasted
  • 3 tbsp cream cheese
  • 1 ripe avocado thinly sliced or mashed
  • 4 oz smoked salmon thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp fresh dill chopped
  • 1 tbsp caviar or more, to taste
  • 1/2 lemon juice only
  • Freshly ground black pepper optional

Instructions
 

  • Toast the bread until golden and crispy for the perfect base.
  • Evenly spread a thick layer of cream cheese on each slice.
  • Mash or slice the avocado, then layer it on top of the cream cheese.
  • Arrange the smoked salmon over the avocado, letting it fold naturally.
  • Add a generous sprinkle of chopped fresh dill.
  • Spoon caviar over the salmon for a luxurious finishing touch.
  • Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the toast and season with black pepper, if desired.
  • Dig in immediately while the toast is crisp and flavors are fresh.

Substitutions & Variations:
If you don't have caviar, try this toast with capers!
Not a fan of rye bread?  Swap for sourdough, multigrain, or an everything bagel.
Want a protein boost? Add a poached or soft-boiled egg on top.
Like it spicy? Mix sriracha into the cream cheese or sprinkle red pepper flakes.
