Ingredients

  • 3 Bosc pears washed and peeled
  • 1 sheet puff pastry rolled out and divided
  • 3 small cubes Brie cheese
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • Fresh thyme leaves optional

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 360°F (180°C).
  2. Peel the pears and slice off the bottoms so they stand upright.
  3. Gently hollow out the center to remove the core. Place a cube of Brie inside each pear.
  4. Cut one-third of the puff pastry sheet into 3 squares and place them on a baking tray.
  5. Cut the remaining pastry into long, thin strips.
  6. Stand each pear on a pastry square and wrap the strips around the pear in a spiral pattern.
  7. Brush the pears with egg yolk and sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
  9. Drizzle with honey while warm and garnish with fresh thyme if desired.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy.
